The Southern Maryland Senators, a Calvert Cure Incorporated 501c3 non-profit baseball/Softball program, is currently made up of approximately 13 teams ages 8 and up. The Senators Baseball/Softball Program is centered towards teaching our young menand women Americas favorite pastime in a fun, yet highly competitive environment.
We strive to instill the importance of teamwork while teaching the ball players how to be productive and respectful members of their community. These players not only excel on the field but also in school. Their studies are very important to each and every one of them. So, it is not just about baseball/softbsll, we also mentor them to study hard, focus and get good grades.
Through the hard work of our teams, generosity of our sponsors, team parents, friends, family and the greater community, our teams contribute to charitable organizations such as The American Cancer Society, American Heart Association and End Hunger.
Like most select-travel baseball teams, we hold various fundraisers and/or solicit sponsorships to fund our teams. But unlike the others, we donate a portion of all funds raised to charities such as The Relay for Life.
Since the organization began in 2011, we set a goal to try and donate $1,000 each season to notable charities. We are extremely proud to say that to date, we have donated over $20,000.00.
